Dr. Schuessler graduated tenth in his class, Magna Cum Laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa on February 25th of 2000. Before that he attended Penn State University for his undergraduate degree in General Science. Through high school it was either going to be a career in cosmetic reconstructive surgery or a career in chiropractic that interested him. Because of his love for wellness, nutrition, and exercise, and the unique ability of the body to heal itself, Dr. Schuessler decided on the path of Chiropractic.
Dr. Schuessler has a strong interest in integrative medicine. He believes in taking a team approach by working with the patient's other physicians whenever possible to provide the highest standard of care. In 2008 Dr. Schuessler became one of the first physicians in the area certified to perform MUA technique of the spine, shoulder, hips, and pelvis. This gentle and non-invasive procedure is performed by a team of doctors in a surgery center and is 90-95% effective in relieving and eliminating chronic pain that has lasted beyond 6-8 weeks. When he is not busy seeing patients Dr. Schuessler loves weight-training for the purpose of general health, but also for competing in local NAS Strongman events, and Powerlifting meets. Recently, he won his first two competitions in the heavyweight division. But, that is not all that he loves. He has a very loving wife, and two beautiful daughters that keep him busy at home. Doc has a love for athletes in all sports, and appreciates the dedication it takes to be competitive. He was on the boxing team at Penn State, played linebacker and running back in football, and ran track in high school.
He is thankful for his family, wife and kids, and the local community and patients who support chiropractic.
