"Dear Dr. Schuessler,
My son, Ben, provided me with a computer list of Chiropractors in the Destin area (where I am recuperating) and after several phone calls I chose you as my Chiropractor, and I am very glad that I did! When I cam to you, for our first appointment, on 27th of May, I was in SEVERE lower back pain. I had been bedridden for the past five months recovering from a life threatening reaction from an antibiotic given to me during and after surgery 4th of January. My posture and mobility were less than prior to the onset of the lower back pain which began on the 2nd of of April. I was very unsteady on my feet, grasping the walls to walk. Upon our first examination you found my alignment to be off by one inch or more. With the "simple" exercises that you encouraged me to perform at home and after the four adjustments you found my alignment to be maintained and no further adjustments rquired - I HAVE NO MORE BACK PAIN!! My Faith in the use of Chiropractic Manipulation has been confirmed. Thank you for being there for me.
Sincerely,
Joy Guyton, 79 years young, Carrabelle, FL"
1/2010 Experiencing Back Pain?
"Visualize this; a grown man crawled up in fetal position lying on the floor. Too painful to lie on a mattress or sit in a chair. Just watching the clock waiting to take another pain pill. The prescription suggested a limit of 4 to 6 pills a day; I was up to 10 with little relief in sight. Talk about life altering pain, I was miserable despite the loving efforts of people around me. Back pain was not new to me. Some 25 years earlier I had an operation to surgically repair a herniated disc in the L1/ L2 region of lower back. Periodically over the years I experienced an occasional pain in the back. But with rest, an ice bag & heating pad I was back to normal in a few days. Now it's the summer of 2005, another episode of back pain, more intense, more painful. Past practices offered no relief, in fact, the magnitude of the pain was radiating down my leg just like some 25 years before. The worst part, I was clueless this time as to the casue. My prior episode was sports related injury. After having an MRI, my Family Doctor advised that I have disc issue which was pressing against my nerves this time in the L4/L5 region of the back. By the fall of 2005, I was in the life altering state mentioned at the beginning of the story; popping pills, trying to decide if I wanted to go through back surgery once again. A lot of caring, thoughtful people were offering suggestions and/ or solutinos. For the life of me, I cannot recall who mentioned a Chiropractor they had used in Destin, FL. Being beyond desperate I made an appointment. Enter Dr. Brian Schuessler, DC into my life. (A quick aside, I remember being in his waiting room when I first had a glance of "Doc Brian" I leaned over to my wife and said "he is like an NFL linebacker, give me another pill, this is really going to hurt" In her infinite wisdom, she said no, just deal with it.) After consultation and a thorough review of my of my medical records including x-rays and MRI results, he advised that he was optimistic that he could offer help. I received treatment for 10 days, on the ninth day I stopped taking pain medication. It's been almost 5 years; Dr. Brian Schuessler gave me back my life. Sure, I still have an occasional issue, but nothing I can't deal with, "Doc. Brian" is truly my miracle worker."
